Red Ledger is a corporate noir case set inside a quiet after-hours office where ordinary accounting artefacts become physical evidence. The mood is fluorescent, rain-dark and procedural: service lifts, print queues, vendor records, secure shredding and a single missing ledger page all matter.
The premise
Minutes after the company's annual dinner, Finance Director Michelle Wong is found dead inside the fourth-floor accounts archive. A red audit ledger is missing from an open cabinet, while a freshly printed invoice register sits beside a heavy brass date stamp. Four colleagues had a reason to fear what she had uncovered.
What the player is trying to establish
Reconstruct who returned to the office after the dinner, trace the missing ledger, and identify the financial trail that turned an internal audit into murder.
The player must distinguish a family-business conflict from a documented procurement scheme. The case rewards linking physical movement through the building to approval initials, company records and an object at the scene that was handled more recently than it appears.
